Overview

Claims data from The Doctors Company involving allegations against orthopedic surgeons were analyzed to gain insight and knowledge for reducing malpractice risk. Common trends and top contributing factors are revealed. Case examples are discussed, key risk management issues are identified, and comments from physician experts are shared.


This program includes a post-test and evaluation. A score of 80% must be obtained to pass the post-test. The post-test and evaluation must be completed to receive credit and a certificate.

Learning Outcome:

Upon completing this program, 75% of participants will pass the post-test with a score of at least 80%, demonstrating increased knowledge of the subject matter.


Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Recognize the most common malpractice allegations involving orthopedic surgeons.
  2. Evaluate my practice to identify known top contributing factors in orthopedic malpractice claims.
  3. Apply at least one risk management insight from this program to decrease my malpractice risk.
