Professions - Physician

Credits
AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (0.50 hours), Non-Physician Attendance (0.50 hours)

Overview

While burnout manifests in individuals, it originates in systems. Professional fulfillment, the inverse of burnout, is driven by three factors: 1. Organizational culture. 2. Practice efficiency. 3. Personal resilience. In this CME program, Christine Sinsky, MD, highlights practice redesign strategies to help clinicians improve practice efficiencies, recover professional fulfillment, and improve patient safety.

To obtain credit and a certificate of completion, learners must score 80% or higher on a post-test and complete a program evaluation.

Objectives
After completing this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate knowledge of one practice efficiency that can help recover clinician time and reduce clinician burnout by passing the post-test with a score of greater than or equal to 80 percent.
  2. Implement one measure in my practice to mitigate burnout such as providing and participating in training and support for a new process.
  3. Implement team-based care to recover clinician time that can be spent with patients instead of on the computer.

Accreditation
The Doctors Company is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical educational activities for physicians.
